Energy is a critical resource in pervasive computing devices. Software development environments cannot directly obtain energy information. This complicates the task of reusing the knowledge provided by existing energy-dissipation experimental studies. To address it, we have developed a solution to extend existing Integrated Development Environments with energy-consumption information. We base the solution on the concept of Green Plugin, which provides runtime energy information to developers that use popular development environments. The energy information is obtained from a green eco-assistant, a repository of energy consuming concerns where researchers store their experimental measurements, and developers perform sustainability analyses, taking greener design/implementation decisions. Each complete valid configuration generated with its time and energy consumptions, and the suggestions, are shown as a Java code comment of your desired JetBrains IDE.
